The Miller Show Hockey is dedicated to providing assistance to in-need members of the tight-knit hockey community through fundraising events.
The tournament was founded to honor Chad Miller. In the months following Chad's passing, teammate Dylan Martin had the idea for a memorial skate for two of Chad's hockey families, the Illiana Blackbirds and the Robert Morris University Eagles. As word got around, interest grew, and there were many more people interested than would fit on two benches.
During late night talks with Dylan, Chad expressed a desire to help underprivileged youth play the game he loved so much. It was clear this memorial skate could be developed into a full-day 3-on-3 tournament with proceeds going to help members of the tight-knit hockey community. The on-ice model has been adjusted to a full-ice, 60-minute game for alumni and current players of RMU hockey.
Co-founders Dylan Martin and Brie Martin have hosted three successful years thanks to the help of family and friends. They are passionate about hockey, thankful for its community, and want to help others remain a part of it. It is their hope that, as they continue to honor Chad's life, the event will grow and provide the opportunity to give back to the community.
